About Me

I was born in Hangzhou but have spent the majority of my life in Hong Kong. I built this webpage because I wanted to create a platform that reflects my personal style and allows me to share my projects, experiences, and hobbies in a format that I find more appealing than traditional social platforms.

By the way, my Chinese name is 都天炬 (Du Tianju). Although most people would assume my surname is 杜 based on Pinyin, it's actually 都. Interestingly, 杜 is my mother's surname, and they are pronounced the same in Mandarin.

Various Discretisation Schemes of Lorenz Equation in Python

The Lorenz equation composes of three differential equations and a discretisation scheme is needed to implement the model on to a computer. Three discretisation Schemes are Forward Euler method (FE), second order Adams-Bashforth method(AB2), Runge-Kutta Order 4 formula method (RK4).

Data Assimilation in Dynamic model

Observations have uncertainty, and the numerical model has limitations because it has assumptions and errors in it. Therefore, data assimilation is one way to improve the reliability of the predictions of numerical models.
